Upcoming
Branch Elections
Branch
618 Elections will be held on Tuesday, 14 May at 7:00pm.
A General Meeting will immediately follow the elections.
The Nomination Board is up at the Branch. Please read
below for information on general election information
and the nomination process.
Election Information:
Votes will be cast for 7 elected positions: President,
First Vice President, Second Vice President and four (4)
elected Executives.
All Branch Members in good standing are eligible to
vote. Proxy votes and mail-in balloting is not
permitted. You must attend in person to cast your
ballots. Please bring your membership card - your
membership will be verified by Election Scrutineers from
Bells Corner Legion.
Nomination Process:
In order to be nominated for 1 of the 4 elected
executive positions you must:
- be a
member in good standing (dues paid up)
- have
attended 2 previous General Meetings within the
preceding 12 months (any 2 meetings between May 2023
and March 2024)
- have been
a Legion member for more than 1 year
- In
addition to all of the above criteria, to be
nominated for President or for a Vice President
position you have to have previously been an elected
member of the Executive.
If you are in
doubt of your eligibility for nomination there is a list
of eligible members attached to the Nomination Board at
the Branch.
If you would like to nominate an eligible member you
have to do so in person at the Branch with a member of
the Nominating Committee (Barb Van't Slot and Tom
Albert). There's paperwork to fill out and sign. The
person being nominated needs to be aware and accept the
nomination.
PLEASE DO NOT WRITE NAMES ON
THE BOARD. THE ONLY PEOPLE AUTHORIZED TO DO SO ARE BARB
AND TOM.
Keep an eye on this column for future information on our
Branch Election. |
