Royal Canadian Legion Membership
The Royal Canadian Legion was formed in 1926 with a membership of 50,000. Our centennial year saw our membership grow to over 300,000 members. The Legion's commitment to the remembrance of those who gave their lives for peace and freedom is as valid today as it was then. Today, the Royal Canadian Legion is Canada's largest Veteran Support and community service organization. Our members in 1350 branches across Canada continue to support our veterans and their families, provide essential services within our communities and remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our Country. As the years take their toll on Canada's veteran population, the Legion seeks new members to continue the programs that the Royal Canadian Legion provides to our Canadian communities. As the times have changed so has our membership opportunities. While our ties to the Canadian Armed Forces remains steadfast, we have opened our membership to include not just veterans but our community members as well. The Stittsville Legion would love to welcome YOU, so why not drop into our Legion Branch and see how you can participate. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!
